Director Anees Bazmee officially spoke on Thursday about the much-anticipated box office clash between his film “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” and Rohit Shetty’s “Singham Again”. Both the movies are scheduled for release during Diwali this year, setting the stage for a major showdown at the box office.
There have been rumours suggesting that the team behind the Kartik Aaryan led horror-comedy requested Rohit Shetty to consider delaying the release of his cop drama. Addressing these speculations, Anees Bazmee released an Instagram statement expressing his enthusiasm for the competition. He stated that he is ‘thrilled’ about the clash and looks forward to seeing both the films succeed. The director emphasized that his focus remains on creativity and business considerations do not influence his work.
Anees Bazmee wrote, “Some media personnel are misinterpreting my statement. As a filmmaker with over three decades of experience, I focus on crafting compelling stories, not getting entangled in film release/ business dynamics. I’ve seen many films succeed despite releasing on the same day. Seems like my words were lost in translation! Let me rephrase: I am thrilled for both ‘Singham 3’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’. Two amazing films, two talented teams. Let’s do it together (sic).”
In an interview, Anees Bazmee has stated that “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” will be different, bigger, better and more entertaining than “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” which released in 2022.
“Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” sees Kartik Aaryan in the lead role, with Vidya Balan returning to the franchise. The cast also includes Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri, who plays Kartik’s love interest.
On the other hand, “Singham Again” directed by Rohit Shetty features Ajay Devgn reprising his role as the iconic cop. The film boasts an ensemble cast with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh.
Both the films are expected to be Diwali blockbusters and the industry is eagerly waiting to see which one emerges victorious at the box office. Which movie will you watch first?
