The two teams which will fight for the IPL 2024 trophy on 26 May are Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad as the latter defeated Rajasthan Royals in the second qualifier by 36 runs. Earlier Rajasthan Royals defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in the eliminator to make place in the second qualifier and since then, there are many who are still talking about RCB and some are even trolling them.
RCB had a disappointing first half as they lost 7 out of the first 8 matches but then they bounced back in a great manner and registered victory in the next 6 matches which ensured their entry in the playoffs.
RCB played their last league match against Chennai Super Kings and the team celebrated a lot as they confirmed their seat in the playoffs but this didn’t go well with many people. What was not liked by CSK fans was that MS Dhoni went back to the dressing room after waiting for the RCB players but they kept celebrating and didn’t come for customary handshakes.
CSK and RCB’s rivalry has become quite intense over the years and after this win, some RCB fans started trolling CSK fans but fans of the Chennai team gave it back after RR defeated RCB in the eliminator.
Ambati Rayudu, the former CSK player who is doing commentary nowadays was also a little disappointed after CSK’s defeat and RCB fans didn’t miss the chance of trolling him as well. However after RR defeated RCB, Ambati Rayudu posted an old video which was shot after CSK won the IPL 2023. The video featured Ravindrja Jadeja, Ajinkya Rahane, Moeen Ali and Devon Conway and they were celebrating by showing number five with their hands as it was their fifth title.
Rayudu posted it with the caption, “Just a kind reminder from the 5-time champions. Sometimes a gentle reminder is required.”
Soon fans started reacting to it and not just fans but Indian cricketer Deepak Chahar and Sri Lankan cricketer Matheesha Pathirana also reacted to the post, while Chahar reacted with Salute emoji, Pathirana reacted with laughing emoji.
RCB is one of those few teams that are still waiting for their first IPL trophy despite the fact that they are playing since the inaugural edition. RCB has always been counted as one of the strongest teams of the IPL as some big names of the world have represented it but still it hasn’t won an IPL trophy which is quite disappointing for its loyal fans.
