Airtel took the competition of telecom industry to a new level when it launched its V-Fiber Superfast Broadband service on Thursday. Reliance Jio has been offering very lucrative offers for customers and this new service of Airtel will definitely provide consumers with some more options to choose from. This service has been started in Chennai first, but as per the company, it will be available in 87 cities of India, including Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru within next few weeks.
Airtel is claiming that customers will get speed of 100Mbps under this service. Not only this, earlier unlimited free-voice calling facility was available only on some chosen plans but now this facility will be made available to every broadband customer of Airtel. However, V-Fiber broadband service will be available only in those locations where Airtel’s broadband service is already available.
Airtel will use the “Noise Elimination Technology (NET)” for network upgradation to increase the speed of broadband, thus there will be no need of digging up the roads for laying down the wires.
This is what Director-Operations, Ajai Puri said on the launch of the service,
“India is witnessing an explosive growth in data usage and a lot of in-home data consumption is happening over fixed broadband that offers consistent speeds. Airtel has always innovated ahead of the curve and offered its customers best-in-class broadband technology and experience. With ‘V-Fiber’ and our national optic fiber backbone, we are all set to offer a future ready network for tomorrow’s digitally connected homes. This solution, besides reducing our carbon footprint, offers a very quick and convenient upgrade to the customer. We are also delighted to launch our innovative myHome Rewards and unlimited free voice calling facility for our customers.”
Existing customers won’t need to pay any extra charge for V-Fiber Broadband service, as they can upgrade to this in their existing plan. They only need to buy a new modem; however, if they are not satisfied with the service, then company will repay the amount of modem within a month. What’s more, new customers will get ‘unlimited three months trial offer’.
With the launch of V-Fiber Broadband service, Airtel has made it clear that it is not going to be a cakewalk for Reliance Jio neither it is easy to take away its customers.
