Every cricket fan, at least the Pakistani ones, must be knowing that Pakistani cricket team is now in New Zealand to play in the limited overs series which starts on the 15th of January. When all the Pakistani fans are getting ready for cheering the team, one fan saved two cricketers of Pakistan from getting embarrassed in the foreign land.
On Monday, Shahid Afridi, the Pakistani all rounder with his team member Ahmed Shehzad went to purchase meals at a McDonald’s restaurant which is situated inside the Auckland Airport but soon they realized that they are not carrying the local currency as they forgot to change their US dollars in local currency.
However, they both were helped out by a fan named Waqas Naveed who came forward to pay the bill when the restaurant refused to take the money that was offered by the cricketers.
This is what Shahid Afridi told the Pakistani media, “There was this young man behind us in the line and he offered to pay for us insisting it was his way of welcoming us to New Zealand.”
But the cricketer was little upset also as the whole incident was recorded by someone and media is showing that video regularly; Shahid expressed his unhappiness in this tweet:
Had us dollars which they wasent taking at nz airport:) but glad 1nce again our media entertaining all of u😀 https://t.co/nDyW9cOJBx
