A 23 year old IT engineer who was working in Delhi was arrested by the police as he uploaded private photos of a BTech student aged 20 on social networking sites.
The photographs were taken when the duo was in relationship. These were uploaded on Instagram, the mobile photo sharing website. Police stated that the suspect is an engineer while the girl studies in BTech 1st year in Gurgaon’s private engineering college. Both the accused and the complainant are from West Bengal and were in relationship. Recently they broke up, stated the police.
What exactly happened?
On Friday, the girl complained that her personal photos were uploaded by the suspect on Instagram on the 24th of April. These pics were clicked when they were friends. She also alleged that the accused used to beat her. After this, the accused was booked under sections 323, 66E, 67, and 67A. He was arrested from Delhi and was brought before a local court, where he was granted bail on Friday. His mobile through which he used to upload the pics was seized. Now the photos have been removed from the website.
