A Myanmarese lady delivered a baby boy on a flight from Singapore to Yangon and for paying a tribute to the airline’s crew, she named the baby after a Singaporean airline.
The baby was named ‘Saw Jet Star’ after it made an unexpected arrival on the flight Jetstar Asia Flight 3K583. However, the baby was delivered quite safely with the help of crew as well as 3 doctors on the flight on the 22nd of April.
Youngest ever passenger on flight!
This was the youngest ever passenger on flight and this news was shared by the airline this week on Facebook. It posted “We’re most pleased to announce that a baby boy, named Saw Jet Star, was delivered safely onboard 3K583 by a team of doctors and the crew after the flight landed in Yangon on Friday, 22 April 2016.”
The plane commenced the landing when that pregnant women began experiencing labor pain. After the landing of the plane, they prepared to carry on with her delivery, when the arrival of the baby couldn’t be delayed any longer.
As per the spokesperson of Jet Star, other passengers were quite happy after the birth of the boy, the weight of whom was 6 pounds, 7 ounces. The mother was relieved after the baby’s birth and named her son after the airline.
The spokesperson stated that “Our crew are trained to respond to all kinds of events on our aircraft, and we’re proud of the way they assisted with the help of generous doctors onboard to ensure the safe delivery of our youngest ever passenger”
Both, the mom and the baby are doing quite well and are discharged from the hospital. 1,000SGD worth of baby supplies were delivered by the airline to the family.
