Aamir Khan is undoubtedly the best actor in Bollywood and is known for his exceptional charisma, when it comes to his acting and money-making skills. Although he has won many awards, he never attends popular film awards such as IIFA and Filmfare since he believes they aren’t credible. They always give awards on the basis of popularity and not on the basis of talent. However, do you know the reason behind this? Well, have a look!
1990: The start of disappointment
Aamir as you all know gave a mind blowing performance in ‘Raakh’ and it enjoyed a good appreciation from the audience. However, he was too disappointed when in spite of being nominated for the best actor award, didn’t get any. Instead, Jackie Shroff won for ‘Parinda’.
1991: Mere Dil ko Ghayal kar diya!
This time Aamir forgot the injustice done to him last year and was ready to start fresh. This time again, his movie ‘Dil’ didn’t get any award in spite of his brilliant performance. It was Sunny Deol who stole the award for ‘Ghayal’.
1992: 2 times injustice! But still ‘Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahi’
Even when it came to ‘Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahi’ and ‘Hum’, everyone expected the former one to win. However, audiences were disappointed again as Amitabh won the best actor award for the movie ‘Hum’.
1993: Ye tune theek nahi kia ‘Beta’

‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’ was a complete hit and Aamir Khan’s character had received a lot of appreciation from audiences. This time he was quite confident of winning, but who knew that this time too they would do injustice with Aamir. This time, it was Anil Kapoor who won the award for ‘Beta’.
1994: Kaash ‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke’ could beat ‘Baazigar’
‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke’ was yet another hit. It was well received by audience, both kids and adults alike. It had to face tough competition from ‘Baazigar’ which was another equally good movie. This time, SRK proved to be the ‘Baazigar’ and won the best actor award.
1995: The most disappointing one!
This year saw clash of 2 hilarious performances; Nana Patekar in ‘Krantiveer’ and Aamir Khan in ‘Andaaz Apna Apna’. Both movies were equally good and well received by audiences. Still, Aamir Khan didn’t manage to win in front of Nana Patekar.
1996: The final nail in the coffin!
Then, in 1996, when SRK and Aamir were nominated as best actors for ‘DDLJ’ and ‘Rangeela’ respectively, SRK won the battle and this made Aamir super-angry. Then onwards he decided that he would never attend these biased awards.
However, he won his first Filmfare award in next year i.e. 1997 for his brilliant performance in Raja Hindustani. But he had already decided that he will never be part of these biased award shows!! Rest is history and we have never seen him attending any award shows!!
