Captain of Indian Cricket team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, is no doubt one of the most adored and admired celebrities at the present time. When he entered the International cricket arena, his cricketing shots along with his hairstyle made him the heartthrob of many girls but he lost his heart to Sakshi Singh Rawat.
MSD and Sakshi were acquainted with each other from their school days as they both were students of DAV Shyamali School in Ranchi and their families also knew each other very well; however, after some time, Sakshi and her parents shifted to Dehradun.
Sakshi has completed her bachelor’s in Hotel Management from the Institute of Hotel Management in Aurangabad. She was undergoing her training in Taj when she again met Dhoni as India v/s Pakistan match was due to be played in Eden Gardens and both the teams were staying at Taj.
An important part was played by MSD’s manager Yudhajit Dutta as it was he who arranged the meeting between MSD and Sakshi. Dhoni got Sakshi’s number from Yudhajit and started sending her message.
At first, it was difficult for Sakshi to believe that she is being wooed by the most eligible bachelor of India. However, she gave her acceptance and from March 2008, the duo started dating and it was on 4th July, 2010 that the couple got married.
Since then, Sakshi has always supported and motivated her husband. She has tried to attend all the tournaments and cheer for her husband and his team, whether it has been IPL or International tournaments.
Sakshi is said to be a good friend of Shilpa Shetty, co-owner of IPL team Rajasthan Royals and they both have been seen together many times.
