The cover story of Mid Day’s Tuesday edition revolved around relaunch of a book ‘Christ Parichay’ written by Ganesh Savarkar, the founder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Commonly it was believed that the birth of Jesus happened in Bethlehem after which he preached in Jerusalem and spent his entire life in modern day Israel. However, brother of Veer Savarkar, Ganesh, makes suggestions that contradict this. He talks about the theory of Christ dying in Kashmir and Christianity being a sect of Hinduism.
He made claims that the real name of Jesus was Keshao Krishna and by birth, he was a Tamil Brahmin having dark complexion. He further says that Christ had traveled to India, wherein he learnt yoga. He says Jesus was revived after crucifixion with plants and medicinal herbs.
The book was published in the year 1946 and 70 years later, the book was circulated on the 26th February by Savarkar National Memorial.
