The sad part of any war is the after effects that it leaves. And, for years now the Afghan region has been torn and devastated, but for a while things seemed to brighten up when this Iranian artist, Neda Taiyeb came and made those lifeless army tank come to life by making them the canvas of her imagination.
She left Afghanistan with such vivid memories for both the people there and for herself. She visited Khair Khana, in the outskirts of Afghan capital Kabul, and took notice of the army tanks which reminded people of the pain of the war and loss of life’s and valuables. But for now, we are hopeful that those sad memories have been painted well and if not completely, but partially it has vanished.
Neda Taiyeb, who was in Afghanistan to launch an art magazine made an effort to bring a smile on people’s face. So, what she did was turned the war debris and army tanks into a piece of art, along with the help of some local people and army men.
“I have a bit of a problem painting on tanks because it might make my work seem political. But you can’t delete them from the country’s history,”she said.
So, here’s how she managed to bring some peace through her art.
