Not even that, he is barred from using internet freely and have to tell police about every phone call or device he uses or could use to make a contact with other people.
These restrictions are a part of an interim sexual risk order given by city magistrate and will go on till May 19th and may go up till 2 years. Under this order, the man has to inform the North Yorkshire Police prior to 24 hours before getting into a sexual relationship with a woman. He has to tell the name and details of the woman he is getting involved with.
Sexual risk order are made by a court when an individual who has done an act of sexual nature and as a result could harm the public in the country. This order is used until when a person is proved convict of a sexual offence. Breaching this order can lead a person to land in jail for up to 5 years even if he has not been convict of sexual offence.
Sarah Green the acting director of organisation End Violence Against Women said, “Such orders are necessary as these people are threat to women. We have crisis levels of rape and sexual assault in this country for which it is often very difficult to get justice.”
