Recently there had been an attack in Pathankot which cost the country lives of some real heroes. In this article, we present the story of one extremely courageous soldier, the Garud commando Sailesh Gaur who had been positioned with 11 others outside Pathankot air base’s Mechanical Transport wing and what makes us salute this brave soldier is his spirit of not giving up even when he was hit by 6 bullets. The soldier was badly injured as well as profusely bleeding but it’s creditable on his part that he didn’t leave his position and made sure that terrorists could not come near technical area which contained fighter jets of IAF.
“Pathankot Braveheart Who Took 6 Bullets, Kept Fighting
A Garud commando who was shot at by Pakistani terrorists at least six times continued to fight on valiantly at the Pathankot airbase, keeping the operation going on for another hour and thus managing to secure the airbase, news reports said. Identified as Sailesh Gaur, the Garud commando was deployed along with 11 others outside the Mechanical Transport Wing of the base in order to kill the terrorists. Sailesh was hit — more than half a dozen bullets in his lower abdomen. Bleeding profusely, he didn’t abandon his post, and was rescued an hour later. He managed to prevent the terrorists from moving to the technical area, where the IAF’s fighter jets were kept. Sailesh (24) is now battling for life at hospital.
