Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) has once again gave a controversial statement and this time it is on the issue of murder of Mohammad Ikhlaq by the mob on the basis of the rumor that he has his family ate cow meat.
Owaisi met the wife of late Mohammad Ikhlaq and claimed that it was a pre-planned murder. As per Owaisi, it was a planned murder as the announcement was made from the temple and then people gathered around Ikhlaq’s house and then they committed the heinous crime.
Owaisi said, “This wasn’t an attack over meat. It was murder over religion to spread politics of hatred of a party. This is a pre-planned, cold-blooded killing. It cannot be an accident.
This is the thought which is against secularism; it is against the brotherhood of India. It sees Muslims with an eye of suspicion.”
He also questioned the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence and said that he can at least make a tweet to send condolences to the victim’s family. Owaisi looked very angry with Mahesh Sharma, the Culture minister as he said, “Mahesh Sharma is the Culture Minister of the country and it is unfortunate that the minister who has taken oath on the Constitution doesn’t have the courage and intellectual honesty to condemn the incident unconditionally.”
