A person in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh was killed just on the basis of a rumor that he and his family have consumed beef meat. The crowd encircled Mohammad Akhlaq’s house and shouted on him for eating meat of cow. What’s more, they broke down the doors of his house and pulled Akhlaq as well as his son out of their house. Both of them were thrashed badly as a result of which Akhlaq lost his life while his son is badly injured. Indian Express was informed about the whole incident by Sajida, Mohammad Akhlaq’s daughter.
Akhlaq and his family never made any sacrifice on Bakri-Eid, just to avoid any dispute with the other villagers; however on Monday night, crowd gathered, encircled his house and thrashed him to death as it was rumored that his family ate meat of cow.
Sajida told that her brother was pulled into the courtyard and beaten while there were some who attacked and harassed her grandmother also.
A calf went missing on the 16th of September whose body parts were found near Akhlaq’s house and it was claimed that Akhlaq was seen throwing a bag which contained meat. The villagers alleged that meat in the bag was of the missing calf and from there, the rumor began that Mohammad Akhlaq and his family were consuming cow meat.
This heinous act of violence has been slammed by the social media and there is a wave of tweets condemning the incident.

WTF do you mean by sending meat for forensics. If it's beef, would you justify the lynching? If it isn't, would it bring the dead man back?

Ironically, India is the world's no.1 exporter of beef. So clearly, cattle is still being slaughtered. So are human beings. 🙁
