The Indian actor Jaideep Ahlawat, who is widely recognised for his intense and versatile performances, admits that he may never be the quintessential leading man in traditional Bollywood romances like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Despite his admiration for the genre and a desire to explore romantic films, he believes that filmmakers might not perceive him as the ideal fit for such roles.
During an interview, he said, “Koi lega nhi mujhe. Mai toh kr loonga. Mujhe lagta hah aisa ki koi lega nahi. Shayad ho sakta hai mai galat hoo. Hum kar lenge, pehle saamne waale ko believe krna padega (I am ready to do but no one will take me for such roles. May be I am wrong, I will do but first the other person will need to believe).”
The 44 years old actor also opened up on his aspirations beyond Bollywood. While he has made a significant mark in the Indian film industry, his ambitions extend to Hollywood, where he hopes to connect with a global audience. He has no qualms about seeking opportunities in international cinema and is eager to embrace new challenges on a broader stage.
He said, “Han han..mujhe chahhiye..kahin bhi kaam karo acha kaam chahiye..mujhe pahuchna hai logon tak..(Yes, yes I want…wherever you work you should do good work…I want to reach more and more people).”
Currently, Jaideep Ahlawat is enjoying the success of Paatal Lok Season 2, where his performance has once again garnered widespread acclaim. His journey continues with another highly anticipated project, The Family Man 3, where audiences can expect to see him deliver yet another compelling performance.
Jaideep also talked about his other upcoming projects, he said, “I did a film with Saif, ‘Jewel Thief’, I did a film with Vipul (Vipul Amrutlal Shah) sir, ‘Hisaab’, mai aur Shefali (Shah) ma’am, and I did a film with the writer of ‘ An Action Hero’, Neeraj Yadav, his first directorial film, and other such works.”
