Bollywood is known for its glamour but the Indian television industry has its own charm. Among its brightest stars is Rashami Desai, a once-top actress who faced a turning point when her personal struggles began to affect her career. With roles drying up, she found herself at a standstill until her appearance on Bigg Boss brought her back into the spotlight.
Rashami, best known for her role in the TV serial Uttaran, had a challenging journey to success. After her show ended, she felt like her life had come to a halt. She also faced significant financial troubles, with debts running into crores.
In an interview, Rashami opened up about her struggles, revealing that her life has never been easy. She shared memories of a particularly difficult period when she could only afford meals costing Rs 20 from roadside vendors.
She said, “I had bought a house and had a loan of Rs 2.5 crore. Apart from that, I remember I had a total loan of Rs 3.5 crore. I thought everything was fine, normal… and then my show suddenly stopped. I was on the streets for four days. I had an Audi A6, and I used to sleep in it. I kept my luggage at my manager’s house and completely distanced myself from my family.”
She further added, “Those four days were very difficult in my life. I realised that I had not even thought about myself. I got so entangled in everything that I forgot about me.”
She also talked about her relationships, “I got divorced, then my friends thought I was very difficult because I don’t say much. Then my family believed all my decisions were wrong.”
