The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2025 is certainly one of the most anticipated test series of the year as the rivalry between India and Australia is becoming more and more intense with every contest that they are playing against each other.
The Indian team will be touring Australia for playing the 5-match test series and it will try its best to secure a hat-trick of series win as from the last two times, it is India which is winning the Border-Gavaskar trophy.
India won the test series in Australia for the first time ever in 2018-19 and then they repeated the same story in 2020-21 and this win was very special because the Indian camp had many injuries in that series and young players rose to the occasion and delivered when needed.
The Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant played an important role in 2020-21 win especially in the Gabba test match. The Australian team was invincible at Gabba for the last 33 years before the Indian team defeated them and it was certainly a big win for the relatively less-experienced Indian squad.
Matthew Hayden, the former Australian cricketer was full of praises for Rishabh Pant while speaking at an event and he said that players like Pant have a muscle memory and they are thirsty for victory. Hayden said that Rishabh Pant was an important player when he played last time in Australia and he was loved by the Australian cricket lovers as well because of the nature of cricket that he played.
While talking about Rishabh Pant’s style of batting in the last series, Hayden said that it was exciting, innovative and fresh. He added that he is excited to see how India will perform this time in Australian conditions, especially the senior players including Virat Kohli will also like to make an impact.
