Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore once again failed in ending their IPL trophy drought and it was the 17th season of the IPL in which hopes of RCB fans were crushed again.
There is no denying the fact that RCB made a great comeback as they registered six wins in six consecutive matches after losing 7 matches out of the first 8 matches. Many people had written off RCB from the tournament but they came back roaring and confirmed their place in the playoffs by defeating the five times champion Chennai Super Kings in their last league match of the tournament.
There was a lot of speculation regarding MS Dhoni’s future in the IPL as many felt that the IPL 2024 is his last season as a player because of which they wanted their Thala to lift the trophy for the last time but their dreams crashed as RCB defeated CSK in the last league match and this further intensified the rivalry between these two southern franchises.
It won’t be wrong to say that RCB fans went a little out of line while celebrating the win against CSK because they celebrated as if they have already won the IPL trophy which left CSK fans in a bad taste.
However, when Rajasthan Royals crushed RCB in the eliminator, CSK fans left no stone unturned in celebrating the moment and it happened not just in Chennai but all over India.

Now Rajasthan Royals will play against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second qualifier and the winning team will play against Kolkata Knight Riders in the finals on 26 May.
