The match between Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad will always be remembered for the carnage that was carried out by the SRH openers – Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma.
In simple words, Travis and Abhishek made a mockery of the LSG bowlers and chased the target of 166 runs successfully within 10 overs and it was certainly unreal batting as said by the SRH skipper Pat Cummins.
However, other than the blistering knocks of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, people are talking about the animated chat that the LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka had with the LSG skipper KL Rahul and the head coach Justin Langer after the match.
Many cricket fans, commentators and former cricketers were of the opinion that Sanjiv Goenka may have been badly hurt with the manner in his team got crushed by SRH but he shouldn’t have behaved in this manner as there were many cameras and such talks and conversations are well-suited within the closed doors. Many fans of KL Rahul have asked him to leave the franchise after Sanjiv Goenka behaved in such a bad manner.

The match was played at Rajiv Gandhi International stadium, Hyderabad and after winning the toss, LSG chose to bat first. LSG managed to put a modest total of 165/4 on the scoreboard with the help of brilliant knocks of Nicholas Pooran (48 runs not out, 26 balls, 6 fours & 1 six) and Ayush Badoni (55 runs not out, 30 balls, 9 fours).
Though the score was not much for a team which has made the record of the highest score (287 runs) in the IPL, still nobody expected that the SRH openers will finish the match in just 9.4 overs. Travis Head played an aggressive knock of 89 runs not out for which he faced only 30 deliveries and his innings included 8 fours and the same number of sixes as well. His partner Abhishek Sharma was not far behind as he scored 75 runs in just 28 balls and he also smashed 8 fours but the number of sixes that he hit was 2 less than that of Travis Head.
After the match, while addressing the press conference, KL Rahul said that he is loss for words as they have watched this type of batting on television but this was unreal batting. He added that everything seems to come from the middle of the bat of the SRH openers and he praised them for their skills of hitting sixes.
