It was a love at first “listen” with Mirza Ghalib for me. I still remember when I was a teenager and I used to spend hell lot of time in listening to the ghazals of Jagjit Singh and Ghulam Ali.
So one day a person I met introduced me to Mirza Ghalib and his poetries. That was a magical day for me as it filled me with a storm of emotions. Ons ‘sher’ that he made me read was just not enough as I wanted to have all his poetries. Fortunately the guy was really generous to share it with me. I am still thankful to him.
That day and today, my fondness for Mirza Ghalib and many more legendary poets has seen no bar. I may always be on a run and may have no time for anything but the shers he had written and his ghazals always stay on my lips. I just love humming them and they run through my veins like blood.
So while listening to some of those ghazals recently, I felt an extreme sense of emotions in me. I knew I am not alone and there are many like me who crave for rich and emotionally charged lyrics and poetries. So here I am to share with you my absolute love, the shers of Mirza Ghalib.
