One of the most desirable actors of the Indian Television industry, Anas Rashid has broken the heart of his female fans as he got married to Heena Iqbal, a Chandigarh-based HR professional. Anas is more popular with his screen name of Sooraj, the character he played in serial “Diya Aur Baati Hum”. The wedding took place in a traditional Muslim manner in the hometown of Anas, i.e., Malerkotla, Punjab.
Earlier when Anas was asked as to why he didn’t marry someone from the TV industry, he told HT,
“Everything happened very quickly. I’m working in this industry; aur agar bahu bhi kaam karegi, toh ghar pe kaun rahega? (And even if my wife works here, who will be at home?) For my family, the fact that I’m working in this industry is enough.”
There is a considerable gap of 14 yrs between the couple as Anas is 38 yrs old while Heena is just 24. Anas said this in an interview to Bollywood Life,
“I asked Heena if she knew my age. She said I know my age, I am ready to get married to you. I am 24. She asked me if I was ready to marry her? Heena said the age gap does not matter to her. Her sister told me that I look 26.”
Anas and Heena got engaged in April this year. The couple looked gorgeous in their wedding attires. Anas was dressed in a gold pathani suit with a turban while Heena was sizzling in her pink dress and there was a little Punjabi touch as she wore kaliras with the red bangles.
