We have seen many movie stars foraying into the area of politics. Undoubtedly, the popularity of a star doesn’t confirm his/her success in politics but it does make the entry a little easy. Agree?
Actor Dwayne “The Rock” is also eyeing the post of American President in 2020 and his interest becomes quite clear when a campaign committee was registered with Federal Election Commission on Sunday to draft him for the President. The statement of the organization posted on the FEC website is “Run the Rock 2020”.
The address registered as the headquarters of the campaign committee is of West Virginia and all the documentation has been completed by a man named Kenton Tilford. It is for the first time that the 45-yr WWE wrestler turned actor has officially made his intentions clear to fight the Presidential elections.
Johnson played a muscular Obama on the “Saturday Night Live” and the podium was labelled as “The Rock Johnson 2020”. He took to Twitter and posted a pic with caption,
“America, I hear you.

The “Baywatch” actor used to be registered as a Republican earlier but now he is an Independent. Moreover, he sounded critical of Trump’s policies while giving an interview to magazine GQ in May. He expects better leadership, responsibility and poise from the present President. However, some feel that Johnson has started showing more interest in running for the President after Trump won the elections.
In May, while attending the “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon, Johnson said that he was “blown away” by the positive reactions on the matter of his running for the President’s office. Johnson stated,
“I think it’s because, you know, a lot of people want to see a different leadership today. I’m sorry, not different, but better leadership today, right? A better leadership.”
What do you think of the actor’s aspirations of becoming the President?
