Nowadays, audience is developing a liking for Punjabi films too. Gone are those days when Punjabi movies used to be restricted to Punjab only; now, they are welcomed worldwide and enjoyed by one and all.
This Friday, 2 movies Bank Chor and Super Singh hit the big screens; it is surprising to know that the Diljit Dosanjh and Sonam Bajwa starrer, has outperformed Bank Chor.
Diljit’s adventure comedy drama is already dominating Riteish’s comic thriller and the first weekend collections are a proof. Let’s have a look at what Taran Adarsh has to say;
First weekend collections of Super Singh!
Punjabi film #SuperSingh has a strong weekend… Fri 1.80 cr, Sat 2.05 cr, Sun 1.90 cr. Total: ₹ 5.75 cr.

On Friday, the film collected 1.80 crores and on the 2nd day, it showed a growth by minting 2.05 crores. The 3rd day collections were 1.90 crores; with this, the first weekend total has reached 5.75 crores. The figure is good for a Punjabi film, isn’t it?
Super Singh is the 4th Punjabi movie in the highest first weekend list. First 3 positions are occupied by Sardaar 2, Sardaarji and Manjhe Bistre.
First Weekend Collections of Bank Chor!
#BankChor Fri 1.40 cr, Sat 1.66 cr, Sun 1.28 cr. Total: ₹ 4.34 cr. India biz.

On the other hand, the collections of Bank Chor aren’t up to the mark. It collected 1.40 crores on Friday, 1.66 crores on Saturday and 1.28 crores on Sunday. The total is just 4.34 crores and it’s much below expectations. Being a Bollywood movie, this Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi starrer should have earned more, don’t you feel so? Let’s see if it picks up pace in the coming days; but considering the current response, it looks very difficult.
Good to see that Punjabi movies are overpowering Bollywood movies with good content. Let’s see the fate of both the movies in the 2nd week.
