Firstly, we would like to congratulate the Pakistani cricket team for showing such a good performance in the finals. No doubt, we are disappointed that India has lost the game, but let’s not sit and cry over it. This is a sport and loss is a part and parcel of it, right?
Indian cricket team had played wonderfully and entered the finals; let’s not ignore that. After the loss, we were waiting to hear what Virat Kohli has to say.
Obviously, he is very disappointed, but his words reflect that he’s a true sportsman. After being crushed by the Pakistani cricket team, Virat, like true player congratulated them.
Kohli said,
“I want to congratulate Pakistan, they had an amazing tournament, the way they turned things around, speak volumes for the talent they have.”
He further said, “They proved it again, they can upset anyone on their day, disappointing for us but I have a smile on my face because we played well to reach the final.”
Talking further about the Pakistani team, Kohli said,
“Credit to them they outplayed us today in all departments, this is what happens in sport. We can’t take anyone lightly but they were more intense and passionate on the day. With the ball we could have had a few more wicket-taking opportunities. We tried to do our best, but even with the ball, they were aggressive, we didn’t show any resistance apart from Hardik, whose knock was outstanding.”
At the end, Kohli said that they will learn from their mistakes and make it big next time. The Captain also accepted that the team wasn’t good enough today.
People are criticizing and questioning Kohli’s captaincy, but we know that he’s a GEM. He will definitely not disappoint us next time.
