Royal Challengers Bangalore, have been hit by the worst case of injured players among any and all other IPL franchises, not to mention this kind of a worst case scenario just before the start of the most awaited season.
It’s the 10th anniversary of IPL this year, and all the teams want to pull up their socks and make a great comeback for this year’s audience, as it’s all really special! Though this time it seems to be a tough luck out there especially for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, who already have two injured players in their backseat!
South African cricketer Ab De Villiers was all ready to lead the team in the side due to Kohli’s absence. Ab De Villiers’ back injury forced him to miss out on the team’s opening game of this season that takes place on Wednesday. He also had missed out on the domestic finals of the one-day tournament last week, in South Africa. Truly a disheartening news!
He took to Twitter to post about the same predicament and also inform all his fans and supporters about his absence! He not only expressed his sadness on being absent from the opening match but also wished good luck and well wishes to the other players in his team, especially, Shane Watson, who is the stand-in captain for the team this time!
Here’s what he wrote on his Twitter: “Really disappointed to be missing the opening game of the IPL tomorrow, good luck to @ShaneRWatson33 and the rest of the @RCBTweets boys!”

What nobody expected was to get a reply on his tweet by Gujarat Lions opener Brendon McCullum, who poked fun at the injury crisis going on within the RCB team. He joked about the Bengaluru franchise’s need to almost bring out their coach, Daniel Vettori back on the pitch as a cover up!
The intended jab is due to the recent injury crisis that hit another player of their team, Sarfaraz Khan, being ruled out of the entire season of this year. Well, that’s quite the blow, literally.
Here’s the tweet reply by Brendon McCullum to De Villiers! Maybe all in fun or maybe not!
Brendon McCullum replied, “Dodgy back again bro? You fellas almost need to roll out the coach for game 1!?”

All this just before the start of the tournament, definitely a head start to all the drama that’s going to be unleashed soon! So, all fingers crossed, let the match begin and may the best team win!
