A lot has been said with regard to the hypocrisy involved in the Bollywood awards so far but the matter doesn’t seem to end soon. Firstly, the avid singer Amaal Mallik opened up about the same on Facebook and criticized such award ceremonies in harsh words. Later, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor’s confession that he purchased his “Best Actor” award for money gave rise to the controversy.
However, it didn’t stop here and Harshvardhan Kapoor who made a debut in Bollywood in 2016 with “Mirzya” stormed the Internet with his statement in which he lashed out for losing the “Best Male Debutante” award to Diljit Dosanjh.
In an angry tone, he said,
“I won every award except Filmfare. Some awards have a jury and they decide. Some have a popular vote. I don’t know how they decided this year. I think debutant awards should be for people who are relatively new to films. Otherwise, it is like saying I have done 100 English films and now I am doing a Hindi film so I am a debutant. So if Leonardo Di Caprio wins an Oscar and then comes to do a Bollywood movie, he is a debutant which is not something I agree with.”
Anuraddha Tiwari, the executive editor of Filmfare, took to Twitter and articulated her utter displeasure over the fervent disapproval. Even if she didn’t name anyone, it was clearly visible that her target was Harshvardhan.
She tweeted, “The sense of self entitlement some of these newcomer actors have is beyond imagination. If only they were half as talented.”

Soon, a war began and the actor firmly said, “Just take my name”

He was not to stop at it and tweeted, “And go through people’s filmographys while your at it”

The actor must have thought that his freedom of speech has been targeted when he tweeted, “It’s amazing, you can’t share your thoughts at all , then you become the antagonist you guys run a business on things actors say”

He went on to say, “It’s not entitlement it’s an opinion just like how your magazine always has one”

This sounds quite genuine on the part of the actor, “Don’t feel entitled to any award, I’m questioning the principle of who is a newcomer, have zero problems losing to a genuine newcomer”

Well, we must say that Harshvardhan has clarified his point very well here. There has been no response from Anuraddha Tiwari so far and we are really looking forward to see what she has to say now!
