Uri attacks have resulted in a lot of tension and ire all across the country, but among all, the film industry seems to be the favorite target. Yes, MNS says there is no place for Pakistani artists in India and at the same time, Pakistani Government says it won’t allow the release Dhoni’s biopic there.
This tiff seems to be never ending and if this continues, it is definitely going to hamper the industry in the long run, don’t you think so?
Now, the recent one to bear the brunt of the MNS Effect is Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, as producer TP Aggarwal has taken a strong action against him.
Reports say that, Rahat was supposed to sing a romantic song in his upcoming movie “Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laddoo Deewana”, but now, Aggarwal is looking for a replacement, since he doesn’t want a Pakistani singer to be a part of his movie.
This is when Pakistani artists denied condemning the attack, which made Indian filmmakers even more furious.
Aggarwal says
“We didn’t want to do this because it’s a lovely song. Rahat is a great singer and he has sung it beautifully. However, my bone of contention is that neither he nor any of the other Pakistani artistes in India have condemned the attack. After the Peshawar attacks, we had started one of our meetings at the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association (IMPAA) with a tribute to the victims and survivors.”
He further went on to say that if Pakistani artists can condemn attacks in other nations, why can’t they do the same in case of India? This is the reason why Aggarwal wants to replace Rahat.
Moreover, Aggarwal would consider retaining Rahat, if he expresses grief over whatever has happened, till then it is a ‘NO’ for him.
The producer agrees that this decision is going to cost them a lot but for him, nothing is more important than the Country and sentiments of Indians.
He hasn’t informed Rahat personally about this decision, but just retweeted a tweet which says Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is replaced! This is enough for a confirmation, isn’t it?
We all know that Pakistani actors and artists earn a lot fame and money in India, so, is it right on their part to be so inhuman this way? Do let us know what you think about this in our comments section below.
