Uri attacks have changed many things! Yes, the attacks have further weakened the relations between India and Pakistan and have also led to many unexpected things. Here’s one more update, that reflects how furious India is with those terrorists who killed our 18 sleeping soldiers.
Zindagi Channel, which has made actors like Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan famous and which gave them good roles in films, has decided something!
The channel which always gave Pakistani actors a good platform for showcasing their skills and reaching out to Indian masses, is now bidding a goodbye to all Pakistani shows. Yes you heard that right; Subhash Chandra, the former Chairman of Zee Media stated that after the Uri attacks, they aren’t interested in airing Pakistani shows in India.
He is disappointed with the fact that the channel gave a chance to actors to display their talent in India, but in return, they killed our beloved soldiers.
Zindagi Channel was launched in the year 2014 and its tagline was enough for us to understand the concept. Yes, the tagline read “Jodey Dilon Ko” which means, the channel wanted Indians to enjoy stories from the other side.
Subhash further adds that he asked Pakistani actors to condemn this terrorist attack, but they simply denied!
He says that they have always been extending support to Pakistani talent, but since wrong things are happening now, it is time to think wisely and take a step back.
For Subhash, the feelings of citizens and pride of India is important, rather than the monetary aspect. Yes, the channel has lost around 300 hours of programming, which cost them a whopping 60 crores. In spite of this, he doesn’t repent his decision of saying ‘NO’ to Pakistani shows.
At the end he said that Pakistani actors are always welcome! When things get settled, they could start working together once again! Let us hope for the best. What is your opinion on this guys? Is the decision right? Do let us know in our comments section below
