2016 seems to be a biopic year! Yes, in India, where people worship cricket, such biopics on cricketers are a super-hit. 3 back to back biopics were planned for 2016, one being “Azhar” which released on the 13th of May, 2nd being “Dhoni: The Untold Story” which is all set to release on the 30th of September and 3rd being “Sachin: A Billion Dreams” which is also scheduled to release this year (No confirmation on date).
Among these, people are eagerly waiting for “Sachin: A Billion Dreams”, because you all know Sachin Tendulkar is considered to be the God of Cricket and people are crazy for him.
The biopic would revolve around his personal and cricket life. There is one good news, which will force you to book first day first show tickets of this movie. Want to know what? Well, this movie doesn’t star any Bollywood actor to essay the role of Sachin! In fact, Sachin Tendulkar himself would be playing the main role, isn’t it great news, which has just made your day? The movie also stars Arjun Tendulkar and Mayuresh Prem (Famous Marathi stage actor) in lead roles.
This film is being made by 200 Not Out, a production company based in Mumbai. Moreover, the director of this movie is James Erskine, who has been a London based award winning producer, director and writer. The shooting of the movie has already started and several personalities have been giving their valuable contributions. Moreover, the company has also contacted the Cricket Board to get video footage of his previous performances.
The film would also be highlighting some untold stories of Sachin’s life, which we are sure, you must be very eager to know. The makers have only aim in mind i.e. to capture the legend’s glorious years for showing it to the next generation.
