Parth Trivedi and Deep Shah, 2 friends from Ahmedabad, were enjoying their vacation in Bhutan last week and while returning, they got a shock.
Both the friends were supposed to get into India through border and had to board the train to Kolkata on the 15th of April. This border in Phuntsholing of Southern Bhutan is the official entryway in the country. However, both the friends, 23, came to know that this border is closed owing to Assembly elections in Assam and West Bengal.
They had only 2 options, either shelling out 12k per person for direct flight to India or spending extra for staying in Bhutan for 2 more days. These 2 tech-savvy Indians did something else, Yes! They tweeted Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj! Next afternoon, they were in India.
This is what they tweeted !
@SushmaSwaraj @MEAIndia @MEAQuery :- In bhutan. heard border gate is sealed due 2 elections, can we enter India 2morrow?
