The tragic incident took place in Los Angeles. It happened when the woman was shopping with her four kids. Lady who got accidentally killed named Veronica J Rutledge (29) was not from the city. She was in Los Angeles for holidays and she was shopping at a Walmart store where all this happened. The Walmart store was in Hayden, Idaho. Her two-year old son was in the shopping cart and he suddenly reached into her mom’s purse and accidentally fired the weapon. This accident happened while they were near the electronic department of the store. As per local TV report, her gun has a permit of Spokane. Later the authorities questioned all her kids. But CCTV footage helped to make it clear that it was an accident. The eye-witnesses also stated in favour of the kids. The Walmart authorities immediately shut down the store as officers were doing investigation there.
Walmart also later gave an official statement about the tragic incident –
“A very sad incident occurred at our store involving the death of a female customer. We are fully cooperating with the Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputies as they investigate this matter.”
