It’s a general perception that life of a human being is considered complete after he/she finishes studies, gets settled professionally, ties knot and then has kids. Several people are of the opinion that having kids is as necessary as breathing and couples who are not able to have children usually feel some kind of emptiness in their lives. However, few Bollywood celebrity couples have broken this stereotype and showed the world that one can have a happy married life even without children.

1. Salim Khan & Helen
Helen is Salim’s second wife and the couple has no child; however, when they found a girl close to a dustbin, they adopted her and named her Arpita.
2. Dilip Kumar & Saira Banu
Dilip Kumar is 22 years elder to Saira and the couple has no kids. Surprisingly, they don’t regret about the same and Saira goes on to say that taking care of Dilip Kumar is no less than bringing up 10 children.
3. Javed Akhtar & Shabana Azmi
The couple is happily married for over 30 yrs and the key element of their strong relationship is friendship. Javed has two kids named Zoya and Farhan from Honey Irani, his first wife. However, Shabana and Javed have no kids of their own but they still don’t feel any vacuum in their lives.
4. Meena Kumari & Kamal Amrohi
Meena Kumari, B-Town’s tragedy queen, was 15 yrs younger to director Kamal Amrohi; nevertheless, they fell in love and tied knot. Reports suggest that Kamal already had children from first marriage and hence, he refused to have kids with Meena.
5. Anupam Kher & Kirron Kher
After initially meeting in Chandigarh, the two became good friends and subsequent to the failure of their respective marriages, they tied knot in 1985. Kirron was already blessed with a baby boy from her first marriage but they wanted a kid of their own; nevertheless, due to some medical issues, they couldn’t have one.
6. Asha Bhosle & RD Burman
Asha has 3 kids from her first marriage with Ganpatrao Bhosle in the year 1949. Their marriage didn’t work and the couple got separated after 11 years, i.e., in 1960. Then Asha tied knot with RD Burman in the year 1980 and the couple focused on their profession instead of having children.
7. Sadhana & RK Nayyar
Sadhana Shivdasani got married to RK Nayyar in the year 1966. Her career was at its peak while Nayyar was among the best directors at that time. The couple didn’t have a child of their own for the reasons best known to them.
8. BR Ishara & Rehana Sultan
It was in the year 1984 that Rehana and Ishara tied knot. Like few other couples, Rehana was 16 yrs younger to Ishara and the couple gave more preference to their career than kids.
